Amphenol Antenna Solutions Introduces Next Generation RET

Amboise (France), January 17, 2018 – Amphenol Antenna Solutions (AAS), the global supplier of antenna solutions and accessories, has today launched a new generation of its integrated RET (Remote Electrical Tilt) system.  The new technology makes RET operations in the field easier and quicker by enabling better control of mobile network operators’ OPEX. Meanwhile the interoperability capabilities of the RET are not at all impacted, thus enabling a smooth introduction in the mobile networks.

AAS’s integrated RET system is already proven in the field through features such as manual override and tilt indicators, which facilitate the installation and operations in the field.

Through the introduction of its new generation of RET, AAS has further improved these features, with a manual RET control that is simpler to use and even more robust. For instance, the manual control and the remote control (via the motor) permanently remain in synchronization. This makes it easy to switch from one to the other when installing a new cell (radio + antenna). As the same firmware is used, there is no need for interoperability testing when moving to the new RET.

Arnaud Baron, VP Sales and Marketing EMEA-APAC at Amphenol Antenna Solutions, explains, “Innovation is at the very heart of AAS’s strategy and the launch of our next generation RET system is testament to this. Dedication to pioneering technological development is the only way the changing needs of customers can be continually addressed.”

Amphenol Antenna Solutions will be exhibiting at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Hall 7, stand 7C62.  Interview appointments to discuss the latest trends and innovations impacting the mobile network market are available.
